Impact of Outdoor Temperature Variations on Thermal State in Experiments Using Immersive Virtual Environment

Recent studies have established immersive virtual environments (IVEs) as promising tools for studying human thermal states and human–building interactions. One advantage of using is that experiments or data collection can be conducted at any time the year. However, previous confirmed potential impact outdoor temperature variations, such seasonal variations on sensation. To best our knowledge, no study has looked into in temperatures IVE. Thus, this aimed to determine if different conditions affected IVEs. Experiments were a head mounted display (HMD) climate chamber, was analyzed under three ranges. A total seventy-two people participated two contrasting conditions, i.e., cold warm conditions. The situ cases, cooling heating used baseline. baseline in-situ then compared with IVE four selection particularly variations. Results showed experimental most cases did not results experiments, replicate environment participants ones experiments. In addition, participant’s sensation vote found reliable indicator between settings all studied few significantly related comfort, acceptability, overall skin temperature.
